The developer of My Stocks Portfolio & Widget app listened carefully to his users’ feedback and aimed for simplicity and great user experience. A few months after its release on Google play the app has a 4.4 stars rating and more than 120 users’ reviews. The developer chose UI for Android because he needed interactive charts with features such as: pinch-zoom, pan and trackball support. “By using the Telerik native solutions, I was able to integrate the charting controls which met my business requirements and complete the feature quickly, allowing me to focus on adding other functionalities to the app,” said Mike Liu, creator of the app.

All-Essential Chart Series
Telerik Chart for Android helps you easily create meaningful and beautiful data visualizations. Show trends with Line, Area and Spline Area Charts. Compare sets of data with Bar Charts. Illustrate proportions with Pie and Donut Charts and use Spline and Spline Area Charts to plot data that require the use of curve fittings in case you need to show product life cycle.

Scatter & Bubble Series
With the new Scatter Series you can show relationship among multiple values along a common numerical x- and y-axis. A variation of the Scatter series, the new Bubble Series allow you to display three types of data along x- and y-axes, using the bubble size as third dimension. A scenario in which Bubble Series are often used is when showing the correlation between life expectancy, fertility rate and population of countries.

Smooth Interaction
Pan and zoom is smooth and fluid allowing for greater readability of dense data. Using the highly optimized UI virtualization mechanism, RadChart draws the data points on demand, contributing to highly efficient performance on the mobile device.

Support for Multiple Axes
The Chart supports multiple axes so that series of different scales can be presented on the same graph. You can add vertical and horizontal axes per chart basis and per series basis. If you have two series in one chart instance, you can use different horizontal and vertical axes for each series.

Financial Series and Financial Indicators
Telerik Chart for Android supports stock series: Ohlc (Open-High-Low-Close) and Candlestick. These series operate with special data points which hold information about each the following parameters: open, high, low, close. To achieve more advanced financial scenarios, you can display financial indicators on top of the financial series. RadChart supports a wide range of indicators - Moving Average, Bands, Momentum and Volatility.

Smooth Interaction and Deferred Zooming
The pan and zoom functionality now offers even more fluid interaction with large amounts of data. The Chart uses its virtualization mechanism to draw the data points on demand, contributing to highly efficient performance on the mobile device. Further performance optimizations can be achieved through the deferred zooming mechanism as it allows developers to specify the exact moment when the chart refreshes.

Outer and Inner Labels
With Outer and Inner Labels you can define the position of the labels relative to the axis and put them either inside the plotting area or outside. This feature is particularly useful in scenarios where conserving screen space is of high importance.

Selection
With support for DataPoint and Series selection RadChart allows users to select part of the series or the whole series. This behavior brings additional interactivity to the control and makes the data easier to understand.

Tooltip and TrackBall

The tooltip is used to visualize information about a specific data point. The developer has full control over the visual representation and content of the tooltip.

The trackball allows for even greater precision when reading the chart data. It displays a small popup (tooltip) containing information about the point where the trackball line crosses the visualization of a series object.

Annotations
Annotations are visual elements that can be used to highlight certain areas on the plot area and denote statistical significance. The annotation can be an explanatory image or text, anchored to a single point, a coordinate, or an arbitrary pixel coordinate on a chart's surface. The Telerik Android Chart provides the following annotation types: Cartesian Grid Line, Cartesian Plot Band and custom Cartesian annotations.
