Live2D is a set of graphic technologies and tools for developing a two-dimensional model (Live2D model) out of any two-dimensionally drawn object. With Live2D, artists can draw with finest details, build a model exactly as the original drawing, and move the model with great control in motion, interactiveness and configurability, all without building a 3D model or dealing with the inevitable visual gap between the original drawing and the result of digital sculpting.

Drawing has been a simple yet magical tool that reflects the creative sense of artists. Just a few lines of a pencil or a pale coloring of a brush can express rich emotions or subtle charms. But in 3D computer graphics, such attractions are often warped or vanished in the process of forcible transformation into three-dimensional sculptures in a virtual space. Live2D was born to help artists create animations while staying true to original drawings and, at the same time, leveraging on modern digital technologies of our time.

One Model. Endless Applications
Live2D model, in essence, is a drawing that moves and interacts. Once you develop a Live2D model, you are free to apply the same model in game, movie, or any other interactive media. With Live2D, 2D asset holders, 2D artists, and fans can all take advantage of the limitless applications of each model, while preserving the authenticity of the original 2D content.

Your Style on Platform of Your Choice
Live2D model can be animated through a process of mapping 2D polygons and inputing motion parameters, and the output animation can be projected with any desired perspectives, be it a realistic 3D perspective or a manga-like impression-driven perspective to fit your styles and applications. To cover the wide spectrum of styles and applications, Live2D has been rapidly evolving. Current compatible platforms includes iOS, Android, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Unity (currently Beta). Live2D LIVE, a real-time control system is underway.
