In ReclaiMe Pro you can specify one filesystem or several filesystems simultaneously to recover data from. On the one hand, it allows you to reduce scan time and the load on the PC, on the other hand, you can search the target for all the filesystems in one pass if you don’t know for sure which filesystem was used. For those filesystems where filenames are stored in 8-bit encoding, ReclaiMe Pro allows you to set code pages manually to ensure file names in any language are recovered correctly.

Faster scan
If you deal with intact or a slightly damaged filesystem, for example in case of a RAID controller failure, ReclaiMe Pro starts data recovery by scanning intact filesystem metadata. It is possible to get the entire filesystem structure in several minutes and proceed immediately with data extraction. If the filesystem metadata is significantly damaged thus preventing the quick reading of all the filesystem, ReclaiMe Pro uses deep scan to sort out all the sectors on the disk.

Search for partitions
ReclaiMe Pro analyzes data on the drive for specific structures of a particular filesystem, for example superblocks of a EXT filesystems family. Based on the data found ReclaiMe Pro reconstructs the partition containing a particular filesystem. Moreover, for each partition reconstructed, ReclaiMe Pro provides the score showing how confident it is that the partition does exist on the drive.

ReclaiMe Pro disk imager is designed to be used by data recovery technicians who often work with devices containing bad sectors. Exactly for such devices, there are many settings in ReclaiMe Pro to configure a disk imager for your particular case. In addition to smart bad sector handling, ReclaiMe Pro disk imager features high speed that is important for data recovery tasks.

Disk image file formats

ReclaiMe Pro can create the following disk image files:

RAW disk image file,
VHD disk image file,
VHDX disk image file.

RAW disk image file is a sector-by-sector copy of the device. VHD format is typically used to create a disk image file of the device up to 2 TB for further mounting it on a Windows PC. VHDX image files are created with the same purpose, the difference is that VHDX format supports the devices larger than 2 TB and is only available on Windows Server 2012 and up, and Windows 8 and up.

Once you have decided what image file format you need by selecting the appropriate item in the drop-down list, ReclaiMe Pro asks you to specify the target location for the disk image file.
Disk imager settings

Next you see the Creating disk image window. At the top, there is information about source and target devices along with a disk image file format. Knowing how healthy your device is, you can adjust ReclaiMe Pro imager settings so that it handles your particular device in the most appropriate way. You can specify the following parameters:

Large block size,
Large block timeout,
Small block size,
Small block timeout,
Deferred block size.
