NDepend 2018.1.0.9030

NDepend is the only Visual Studio extension that is able to tell the developer that over the past hour, the code just written has introduced debt that would cost for example about 30 minutes should it have to be repaid later. Knowing this, the developer can fix the code before even committing it to the source control.

Forensic Browser for SQLite 3.2.13

Have you ever needed to create a report from an SQLite database that is not supported by your current forensic tools, or your current forensic tool only supplies a subset of the data? Have you looked at an SQLite database and been frustrated that a date column is displayed as just a string of user unfriendly digits? Would you like to look at a blob field as a picture rather than just see "blob" displayed in the field? Would you like to create a PDF report with just a few columns in a particular order from certain users sorted by a date field? Would you like to do this just using drag and drop and your mouse?

The life of a software product is usually marked by the release of different versions. One version differs from the previous one by a small number of changes. Some sections of code in the executable files are different, new files may be added, some even deleted. What the author of the product usually does is provide a whole new version of the files either as a new reinstallable product or just the modified files, compressed into an installer. The above procedure is very wasteful though. For example, if a file of 1 megabyte has only had say 10 kilobytes altered inside it, then why create an update patch that requires the full 1 megabyte? It would be far more efficient if just the altered data was stored. This is the purpose of Patch Maker, as it saves a huge amount of bytes by storing just the differences between files and even compressing this data.

It's a bit like COM+ but completely .NET. It's a bit like COM+ but without the weird idiosyncrasies. It's a bit like COM+ but without so many names*. Perhaps the closest .NET product to TaskGarden is the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) provided by Microsoft. However if you have ever used WCF you will know how incredibly heavy and complicated it is. If you have a year to spare then by all means go for WCF. If not then TaskGarden is lightweight, portable and functional. It concentrates on getting the job done.

ReSharper Ultimate 2016.3.2 | 157 Mb

ReSharper Ultimate is a license that combines all individual JetBrains .NET tools, as well as ReSharper C++. Each ReSharper Ultimate license allows a single developer to use ReSharper, ReSharper C++, dotCover, dotTrace and dotMemory. If a single developer uses Visual Studio to code both in C# (or VB.NET, or TypeScript, or other languages supported by mainline ReSharper) and in C++, they would probably want to have ReSharper help them out in both worlds. Purchasing ReSharper and ReSharper C++ for this developer is a valid option but buying ReSharper Ultimate will actually cost you less than the two-license combo and will additionally make the developer eligible to use dotCover, dotTrace and dotMemory.
